Nurturing connection, confidence, and emotional growth in children and teens.

Creative, Developmentally Attuned Care for Children and Adolescents

Whitney Curry is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor who specializes in working with children and adolescents. She brings genuine enthusiasm and passion to her work, creating a therapeutic space that feels engaging, safe, and developmentally appropriate. Sessions often incorporate art, games, and creative expression, allowing children to communicate emotions in ways that feel natural and accessible. Whitney also values warmth, curiosity, and comfort in the therapeutic environment, including the calming presence of her office gecko, Honey, who often helps spark curiosity and put children at ease.

Attachment, Family Connection, and Emotional Safety

Whitney’s work is strongly informed by attachment theory and emphasizes the importance of secure, supportive relationships in a child’s emotional development. She believes one of the most powerful protective factors for children is a strong connection with their caregiver. As a result, therapy focuses not only on the child’s internal world, but also on strengthening the relationship between children and the adults who care for them. Whitney places a strong emphasis on collaboration with parents and caregivers, using family sessions to build communication, trust, and connection across the family system.

Clinical Focus:

  • Children & Adolescents: Providing developmentally appropriate therapy that supports emotional growth, self-expression, and resilience.

  • Attachment-Based Care: Using an attachment lens to strengthen emotional security and relational understanding.

  • Parent & Caregiver Collaboration: Helping families better understand their child’s emotional needs while building trust and connection.

  • Creative & Expressive Interventions: Incorporating art, games, and playful therapeutic tools to support communication and confidence.

Play-Infused, Attachment-Based, & Relationship-Centered Supervision

Whitney brings the same warmth, curiosity, and relational focus to supervision that she brings to her clinical work with children and families. Her approach supports clinicians in developing confidence in child and adolescent treatment while deepening their understanding of attachment, emotional development, and caregiver involvement. She emphasizes thoughtful, developmentally appropriate care and helps supervisees build comfort using creative and expressive interventions in session. Whitney’s supervisory style is supportive, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that strong clinical work begins with safety, attunement, and connection.

Supervisory Style:

  • Attachment-Informed Clinical Thinking: Supporting supervisees in understanding children through emotional development, relationships, and caregiving systems.

  • Developmentally Appropriate Care: Helping clinicians tailor interventions to the child’s age, needs, and way of communicating.

  • Family Systems Collaboration: Encouraging strong parent and caregiver involvement as part of effective child therapy.

  • Warmth, Creativity, & Clinical Presence: Supporting clinicians in building a safe, engaging therapeutic environment through curiosity, flexibility, and relational skill.
