Kristen holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University. She is independently licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC).
Through her experience working in outpatient settings for mental health and substance use, Kristen uses compassion and humor to connect with clients of diverse populations and backgrounds. Treating individuals who experience negative consequences of substance use, she works on getting to the root cause of maladaptive behaviors using Client-Centered and Strength-Based Models.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing Techniques, Kristen helps clients regain control of their lives by increasing confidence and maintaining healthy relationships. Kristen views setbacks and obstacles as a part of life that can be navigated successfully in a supportive therapeutic relationship.
