Amy Rossi, LPC

Amy Rossi, LPC

Amy has supported her adolescent clients and their families in managing behavioral problems, anger management issues, school-related problems, substance use disorders and mental health disorders. Amy also worked extensively with adolescent females experiencing significant environmental stressors, unresolved trauma/abuse, and utilizing unhealthy coping skills such as self-harm and substance use. In her work with adult clients, Amy led a parenting skills program which sought to help parents understand the intergenerational cycle of child abuse and neglect, and empower them with the necessary tools to parent their children in a healthy and positive way.

During therapy sessions, Amy utilizes a client-centered, psychodynamic approach augmented by cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral therapeutic interventions. Her goal is to help her clients increase their self-awareness, and understand their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs in relation to their past experiences, especially childhood experiences. Amy aims to help her clients identify important pieces of the puzzle that make them who they are, and rearrange them in ways that allow them to form a more functional and positive sense of self.
