Vanessa is a master’s level clinician with a degree in Counseling and specific concentration in Substance Use from Nathan Weiss Graduate College (Kean University). She also received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University. She is dually licensed as an Associate Counselor (LAC) and a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) with experience working in settings that include inpatient and outpatient, along with community work as an IIC in New Jersey.
Vanessa has worked with individuals of different cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and sexual orientations. She concentrates on helping people overcome negative thinking patterns while building self-esteem as they navigate life’s challenges. Her commitment to guiding people along the recovery process includes managing depression, anxiety and other mental health issues while achieving balance in life.
Vanessa works from a place of genuine concern and respect for the people she serves. She uses humor and honesty, as well as useful techniques to help individuals achieve their goals. Vanessa strives to create a nonjudgmental space for people to share openly and freely. She has found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Stages of Change to be highly successful when working with Co-Occurring populations.
