Sara De Los Santos is a Licensed Professional Counselor; she received her Master’s in School Counseling through Trinity Washington University and after completion of this program received a New Jersey School Counseling Certification. Sara also received her Bachelors in Counseling and Human Services from The University of Scranton. During Sara's graduate program she completed clinical hours with a concentration in childhood behavior modification, social adjustment and emotion regulation. Sara has experience working with children, adolescents, parents and families. Some of the issues she has treated include anxiety, depression, family systems integration, peer relationships, self esteem, parenting psycho education, social skills, bonding separated families, grief, ADHD, PTSD and school related issues.
In addition to her work in the private practice setting, Sara works with children and families in a school setting. This experience allows her to assess the needs of children and families and provide appropriate resources, assist with the family and school connection and collaborate with teachers, administrators and other professionals within the community.
Sara offers clients an inviting and confidential environment. Sara's theoretical orientation comes from a systems approach using integrative techniques that emphasize cognitive behavioral modification along with a person-centered connection. Her focus is concentrated in the client/counselor relationship to guide and support healthy interaction, which is integrated in the family unit during the treatment process
