Robyn Battiato is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups. Robyn completed her Masters degree at Farleigh Dickinson University and received a BA in Psychology from Lafayette College. Among the issues Robyn has assisted clients addressing are: anxiety, depression, anger management, body issues and self concept, eating disorders, career change and counseling, conflict resolution, addressing outdated cognitions and maladaptive coping strategies, parenting and family relationships, self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors, identity exploration and development and coping with developmental crises.
Before working in the private practice setting, Robyn worked with groups of adolescent women, focusing on body image, self-concept, relationship issues and conflict resolution. Within the private practice setting, Robyn has had continued success assisting adolescents on an individual basis, as well. Examining the underlying issues that influence choices that adolescents make is often the key to clients finding the answers they seek in therapy.
Robyn has also had success working with couples facing a variety of issues: infidelity, trust, mid-life issues, conflict resolution and simply examining outdated cognitions and communication cycles. People grow and change over their lives; navigating those changes as a couple often requires slowing down and taking a closer look at what really lies below the surface of the basics of what transpires in the 'everyday'.
Choosing to embark on a therapeutic journey takes tremendous strength and courage; often walking through the door the first time is the hardest step. Utilizing a client-centered approach, Robyn endeavors to connect with her clients, meet them where they are, and earn their trust, and to jointly work toward achieving therapeutic goals.
